Technology firm Blue Agave Software Inc. has introduced an offering to consumer-goods suppliers that it believes will help improve service to retailers while also driving revenue and reducing costs for suppliers. The new offering, formally called Retailer Service Excellence (RSE) for Consumer Goods Suppliers, combines packaged software and implementation service. RSE captures, organizes and manages disparate data from retailers' point-of-sale systems that can be used to improve service when employed in combination with operational information from internal transaction and planning systems, explains Blue Agave Software, Cambridge, Mass. "In order to excel in today's environment, service teams need to become more proactive, product planners have to understand how products are performing throughout the network, and managers need visibility into end-to-end operations in order to protect revenue and capture new opportunities," states Joe Chappell, Blue Agave Software president and CEO. RSE includes pre-built integration with several retailers' proprietary systems, including Wal-Mart's RetailLink, Lowe's Loweslink and others. RFID support is included in the product, the firm says.
