Compiled ByJonathan Katz A supply-chain-management program designed for senior and middle-level managers and consultants responsible for domestic and international supply-chain-logistics systems will be held by the Northwestern University Kellogg Graduate School of Management and Robert R. McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science. The program - Global Supply Chain Management -- will be held at the James L. Allen Center on Northwestern's Evanston campus throughout 2000 and 2001. Four sessions have been scheduled: Aug. 9-12 (which is already booked); Oct. 15-18; Mar. 7-10, 2001; and Oct. 28-31, 2001. The program will highlight issues and concepts such as:
  • Supply-chain integration.
  • The use of product design, strategic sourcing, and contracts for accurately matching supply and demand in a supply chain.
  • Building and utilizing supply-chain coordination and collaboration.
  • A checklist for identifying e-business opportunities within a supply chain.
  • Integrating e-business within an existing supply chain.
  • The role of the Internet in improving supply-chain performance.
