Compiled ByJill Jusko Demantra Inc., a provider of consumer demand-driven supply-chain technologies, has introduced Demantra Spectrum, a solutions suite that links sales and marketing and manufacturing operations to help optimize marketing, inventory and replenishment decisions. The suite combines a marketing planning and analytics solution with demand management and inventory planning and optimization solutions. The new version of the suite addresses sales and operations, vendor-managed inventory, and collaborative planning, forecasting and replenishment. The Cambridge, Mass.-based firm says the most notable addition to the suite is its promotion effectiveness component, which helps measure the impact of trade promotions. It is designed to ensure that promotion decisions are integrated with the supply chain's capacity and constraints, allowing all partners to gain visibility into promotion and production plans. Additionally, other updates include:
  • Space constraint profit optimization. This update helps manufacturers determine what to ship, package and shelf stock based on the most profitable mix of product given space, volume or credit constraints.
  • Additional performance. The suite now runs on Microsoft SQL Server 2000 in addition to Oracle 8i and 9i databases.
  • HTML thin Web client support.
