MARC Global has added radio frequency identification (RFID) capabilities to its product suite with two new offerings: MARC RFID Compliance Kit and MARC RFID Enterprise Edition. The Dulles, Va.-based provider of supply-chain-execution solutions said the new offerings are aimed at meeting RFID requirements of Wal-Mart and the U.S. Department of Defense. The compliance kit provides printing of RFID electronic product code (EPC) tags in-line or at shipment, and allows verification of content and delivery. MARC Global says it meets the requirements for EPC management, tag quality assurance, case-to-pallet linkage and EPC-enabled advance ship notices. Scalability has been proven to over 6,000 transactions per second and can support more than 100 readers on a server, the company says. The Enterprise Edition meets the functionality of the compliance kit and offers expanded services, including real-time tracking and product status alerts.
