Compiled ByEric J. Merfalen The Idea Exchange, a new online marketplace where anyone can buy and sell an idea, announced its recent launch. The Internet site offers the first intellectual commerce exchange. It enables its clients to browse through existing ideas to buy, solicit ideas from other users, and sell their own ideas for a profit. Visitors to the site can list, request, browse, and respond to requests for ideas. Categories include business and finance, science and industry, and myriad consumer-related ones. A new management team for Idea Exchange also was announced. Rob Brazell is chairman and CEO of the company. He formerly was founder and CEO of Overstock.com. He also is author of The Idea Economy (1995, American Home Business Assn.). Von H. Whitby will serve as president and COO. Whitby has been in the investment banking and leveraged buyout business for more than 25 years. "We are proud of the strength and diverse backgrounds of our team," says Whitby. "We have vast experience in business and in the technology as well, which will serve as a tremendous asset for building a strong foundation for IdeaExchange."
