Technology firms SAP AG and Infineon Technologies AG have announced a new radio frequency identification (RFID) solution designed to help companies connect and manage RFID hardware and software from multiple vendors. The new offering is based on SAP's NetWeaver technology platform and Infineon's RFID You-R OPEN device integration platform. The platform can manage a full range of RFID implementations from tags to enterprise applications, including RFID device management and hardware and software products and solutions, according to Munich, Germany-based SAP. The two firms will be offering the scalable solution for pilot implementations in retail organizations as well as industrial manufacturing, high-tech and aerospace industries.
