ByJohn S. McClenahen From Sept. 21 until Sept. 25, U.S. Commerce Secretary Donald L. Evans is slated to lead a delegation of American business executives to Russia in search of new energy-sector trade and investment opportunities. The trade mission is scheduled to travel to Moscow and St. Petersburg where, the Commerce Department says, executives will focus on developing new partnerships with Russian energy companies. Fast-growing demand for Russian oil and gas resources has created business opportunities for U.S. firms in both rehabbing existing oilfields and developing new oil exploration projects, the department claims. Opportunities are said to exist for U.S. energy equipment suppliers as well as providers of oil- and gas-field equipment services. Applications and additional information are available on the mission Web site at www.doc.gov/russiamission2003. The deadline for applications is Aug. 8.
