Compiled ByFrank R. Chloupek According to "E-Mail Archiving Market Trends, 2003-2007," a study by the Radicati Group Inc., corporate demand for e-mail archiving products and services is growing by 75% per year. While storage is a primary driver for this market (average users process about 76 e-mail messages daily), regulatory and legal compliance requirements, such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, also play a role, according to Radicati. According to the study, 86% of companies surveyed consider e-mail archiving either very important or somewhat important. However, only 37% of companies surveyed have a formal e-mail archiving policy in place. The Radicati Group is a Palo Alto, Calif.-based research firm.
