What prevents executives from using the Internet more often? Its too slow, say almost half of the 3,500 member executives and managers and 700 member IS managers surveyed by the American Management Assn. Forty-eight percent cited lack of speed; 29% pointed to lack of education and training of staff, customers, and suppliers; and 29% cited a lack of security. Another 17% blamed "surfer unfriendly" search engines and 14% mentioned poor or unprofessional Web site designs. But the majority of the respondents felt these issues would be resolved within 24 months.
