ByJohn S. McClenahen Whether or not the U.S. Congress will act on the pending Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) this year remains uncertain. But El Salvador, one of the six central American nations included in the pact, isn't waiting to make its investment case to manufacturers and other U.S. businesses. "It is our main objective to continue promoting our country as we've done in the past, because regardless of CAFTA companies have been coming to El Salvador," says Patricia Figueroa, executive director of PROESA, a government organization that promotes investment in El Salvador. Textiles, electronics, auto parts, software development and agribusiness are among the investment opportunities that she highlights.
