Computer Associates' interBiz Supply-Chain Group (formerly Acacia Technologies and the MK Group), is having a banner year in Asia, signing a record number of new software deals in the region in the latest quarter. "The robust functionality of our products has worked as a vaccine for the 'Asian Flu'," says John McCarron, general manager of interBiz, based in Islandia, N.Y., referring to the economic malaise that has upset the region over the last year and a half. "With the growth of the third-party logistics market, we believe interBiz will continue to see a growing number of warehouse management deals in the near future." McCarron says most of the deals in the latest quarter in this region involved the software company's warehouse management system. Some new customers include Central Bank of Indonesia, which is using the software to manage the storage and disbursement of paper currency; Logistics Singapore Pte Ltd., the regional distributor for Sony Corp.; CWT Distribution Ltd., a warehousing and logistics firm; Southern Cross Carriers Pte Ltd., the logistics, and traffic management unit of Mitsui & Co. Ltd.
