Compiled ByJill Jusko Tom Sidlik, Chrysler Group executive vice president, procurement, has been appointed chairman of the National Minority Supplier Development Council Inc. (NMSDC) Executive Committee for a two-year term that concludes at year-end 2003. The business membership organization, based in New York, provides procurement and business opportunities for minority-owned businesses. "The appointment is a great honor," Sidlik says. "All industries are facing challenging economic times right now, and we've seen in the past that during difficult periods, commitment to supporting minority businesses can be tested. I'm looking forward to working with the NMSDC to continue to reach out to corporations to address this issue." In his role as executive committee chairman, Sidlik will work closely with NMSDC management to oversee policies and procedures, and day-to-day operating issues.
