Cypress Semiconductor Corp. has chosen the Global Factory Network solution -- from Global Factory Inc. -- to establish a Web-based collaborative connection with all its suppliers. E-collaboration with suppliers is a Cypress priority to increase supply-chain efficiency, reduce cycle time, and improve customer service, says Cypress's vice president of procurement John Ramacciotti. Initially, the Global Factory Network will be used to enable collaboration by exchanging engineering and quality data, along with work-in-process and order release information. Cypress will begin implementing the solution immediately. San Jose, Calif.-based $705.5 million Cypress makes high-performance integrated circuit solutions for markets including data communications, telecommunications, computation, consumer products and industrial control. Global Factory, based in Santa Clara, Calif., has created the subscription-based Global Factory Network, a Web-based application for extended-enterprise collaboration.
