Con-Way Southern Express (CSE), a regional less-than-truckload freight carrier, is constructing a service center in Newnan, Ga., to expand its freight-handling capacity in the southwest Atlanta metropolitan area. The Fort Worth, Texas-based commercial carrier said it will immediately develop the 10-acre property, with construction slated for completion in September. The company will build a 40-door, 22,000-square-foot facility that includes a 17,000-square-foot dock and fueling area. "The metro Atlanta area is a growing market for us, and this new service center will ensure that we properly handle that growth," says David L. Miller, CSE president and CEO. CSE is a business unit of Con-Way Transportation Services Inc., which itself is a subsidiary of Palo Alto, Calif.-based CNF Inc.
