Information technology managers must deal with the upcoming conversion of European currencies to the euro, warns Dallas-based IMI Systems Inc., an international IT consulting firm. Companies must look at existing business systems that are coded to deal with a broad spectrum of currencies and analyze how they can be adapted to the new monetary unit. Echoing the concern, the Gartner Group, a research firm, says that "certain U.S. and European enterprises are faced with an event that will likely affect every installed PC--and cost more than $1 billion to reprogram."
