The pending merger of Chrysler Corp. and Germany's Daimler-Benz AG will create 7,000 jobs this year in Europe, says the new group's boss, Juergen Schrempp. Heartened by a 20% growth in Daimler-Benz earnings between this January and August, the firm will invest US$20 billion in Germany over the next three years, he adds.
