Dana Corp. and GKN Automotive Driveline Div. (ADD) have formed a worldwide driveline systems joint venture for passenger cars, light trucks, and SUVs. The venture -- Drive Tek Ltd. -- is based in Auburn Hills, Mich. and "will provide automakers greater technology, speed to market, and value in the integration and program management of major driveline system applications," notes Javier Tamayo, president of Drive Tek. The new company will offer access to global driveline design and application technology (including both parent companies) as well as resources and service flexibility to source components and systems worldwide. Dana is an independent global supplier to vehicle manufacturers and the aftermarket. GKN ADD is a global supplier of complete driveline systems.
