Deadline Extended For Comments On Chile Trade Pact

McClenahen If the White House regains expedited trade negotiating authority early in 2002, a pending pact between the U.S. and Chile could be the first agreement under the "fast-track" procedure. What is definite, however, is that manufacturers and other companies have additional time to comment on the draft environmental review of the proposed U.S.-Chile Free Trade Agreement. The new deadline for comments is Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002. The draft document is available at www.ustr.gov/environment/environmental.shtml.
