Computer hardware manufacturer Dell Computer Corp., Round Rock, Tex., has allied with e-business application provider Vignette Corp. to provide corporate and institutional customers with scalable e-business solutions that combine Dell's PowerEdge Servers with the Vignette V/5 E-business Application Platform. The alliance between Dell and Vignette will initially focus on providing e-business solutions to government customers and corporations. The combined offering will supply a comprehensive solution for delivering personalized content, managing customer interactions across multiple communication channels, and conducting powerful data mining and analytics. Also as part of the partnership, Dell will use the Vignette V/5 E-business Application Platform to manage and deliver personalized content to its e-business sites, including its Premier Dell.com sites that provide 50,000 corporate and institutional customers customized Web sites for purchasing, order-status reporting and tracking, management and financial reporting, service and support.
