The International Assn. of Electronics Recyclers Inc. (IAER) has been formed to help meet the challenges of disposing and recovering the tens of millions of consumer electronics products that are purchased each year. Founding members of the group include electronics recycling companies, global manufacturers of electronics products, and the two leading international trade and professional associations in the electronics industry -- the Electronic Industries Alliance, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Representatives of the Albany, N.Y.-based IAER are holding a meeting of its steering committee during the Electronic Product Recovery and Recycling Conference meeting this week at the DoubleTree Hotel National Airport, Arlington, Va.
