McClenahen Although today's meeting of the Federal Open Market Committee -- and its expected hike in short-term interest rates -- has the headlines, there are at least four other economic indicators worthy of attention this week. On Sept. 23 the U.S. Labor Department releases data on last week's jobless claims and the Conference Board releases its Index of Leading Economic Indicators. On Sept. 24 the U.S. Commerce Department reports on durable goods orders in August and the National Association of Realtors reports on sales of existing homes in August.
