Honda Plans More Automobile Production In 2001

By BridgeNews Honda Motor Co. Ltd. says that it expects to produce and sell more automobiles worldwide this year than in 2000. Japan's third-biggest automaker, after Toyota Motor Corp. and Nissan Motor Co. Ltd., said it plans to sell 2.69 million automobiles worldwide this year, a 6.0% rise from last year. It plans to produce 2.65 million vehicles, up 6.7%. Honda sold 2.54 million vehicles and produced 2.48 million vehicles last year.
