Textron Aerospace Fasteners in Santa Ana, Calif., has had no problem finding people to work the second shift on weekends at its plant since taking the following approach: Employees who opt to work 3 p.m. to 3 a.m. Friday through Sunday get both a 12.5% premium in pay plus Monday through Thursday off, says Steve Keyzers, human resources manager.
