To better manage its inbound and outbound freight operations for its agricultural services business, Land O'Lakes Inc. will implement Global Command and Control Center software from G-Log (Global Logistics Technologies Inc.), a Shelton, Conn.-based provider of logistics and transportation software. "With our rapidly growing business, we were looking for a technology that will essentially 'knit together' our transportation and logistics network to unify and simplify our business processes," says Dan McGowan, vice president of manufacturing and logistics, Land O'Lakes. Says Curt Young, director of business information systems at Land O'Lakes, explains, "The G-Log solution will allow our logistics staff at any location to access a single data repository to support making real-time decisions." Land O'Lakes, based in Arden Hills, Minn., has annual sales of $6 billion.
