ByTim Stevens Learn how to use the Linux operating system to create a productive desktop environment in a new four-day course offered by Learning Tree International Inc., Reston, Va., a provider of education and training to information technology professionals. "Linux: A Hands-On Introduction," provides extensive experience using desktop tools, downloading software from the Web, creating multimedia content for documents, and performing key system administration tasks using graphical tools. Participants will learn how to use Linux for daily tasks such as e-mail, word processing and Web browsing, as well as integrating Linux with Windows. The company plans to present the sessions at its education centers beginning in August. The course schedule through October 2000 is:
