Logility Inc. Introduces Supply Planning

Honing the supply chain to achieve key business objectives is the goal of a new Supply Planning module offered by Logility Inc. as part of its Voyager Solutions suite. The new module applies advanced financial and optimization capabilities to sourcing decisions, enabling companies to balance profits, costs, and service while simultaneously considering various supply-chain constraints. The software takes into account manufacturing, transportation, inventory, storage capacities, costs, and other operational constraints when generating supply plans. The realtime alert function notifies users when resources are over capacity, inventories fall below safety stock levels, and orders cannot be filled due to supply levels. "Supply Planning enhances customers' ability to define and achieve their optimal business plans," says Mike Edenfield, CEO of Atlanta-based Logility. "Supply Planning's realtime alerts allow companies to easily manage exceptions within their supply chain and spend time on their most critical business issues." A key feature of Supply Planning is "profitable to promise," which allows planners to identify the total landed cost for each order promise as well as its forecasted profitability.
