Megadeal Oil Merger Hurts U.S. Workers

Expect workers in the U.S. to lose out the most from the $49 billion merger of British Petroleum Co. PLC with Amoco Corp. Half of the initial $2 billion in expected savings will come from some 6,000 job cuts -- most of which will take place in the U.S. refining and marketing operations of the combined BP-Amoco.
