Compiled ByJill Jusko A division of Ashland Distribution Co. has begun operations at a new $7 million, 125,000-square-foot distribution center located in Anderson, S.C. The General Polymers Division facility will receive bulk thermoplastic materials, primarily by rail, and will package and distribute plastic resin pellets to General Polymers customers throughout the southeast. Ashland says it acquired the 43-acre site and developed the facility to enhance its inventory management and customer-service capabilities, as well as provide an infrastructure for the potential expansion needs of its other distribution businesses. Ashland Distribution is a division of Covington, Ky.-based Ashland Inc., whose businesses include road construction, specialty chemicals and car-care products.
