Compiled ByJill Jusko Building materials and composites producer Owens Corning has named Richard D. Lantz president of the global composite solutions business, a new operating unit that accounts for more than one-quarter of the company's sales. The unit combines Owens' roofing solutions and composites systems businesses, and has annual sales of approximately $1.4 billion. Lantz succeeds Heinz-J. Otto, who had led the composites systems business since 1996. Otto has left the company. Lantz, who last year was named president of the roofing solutions business, said the new operating unit is the outcome of natural synergies between the two previous units. "These operations have traditionally served some of the same customers, and we will now have the ability to increase the value we can offer them through enhanced product offering and service capabilities," he says. Owens Corning is based in Toledo.
