PeopleSoft Inc. manufacturing executive Monty Zweben, cofounder of Red Pepper Software, which was acquired by PeopleSoft in October 1996, stepped down on Oct. 10. His successor as general manager of the manufacturing business unit, Jeffrey Carr, is a PeopleSoft veteran, having been with the Pleasanton, Calif., software firm for six years. Zweben, who will continue as a consultant to PeopleSoft, was responsible for PeopleSoft's entry into both the enterprise resource planning and supply-chain management systems arenas. One of PeopleSoft's first 50 employees, Carr established the Mid-Atlantic Region office in 1991. Before joining PeopleSoft, he held sales management positions for seven years at Integral Systems, a firm also founded by PeopleSoft founder and CEO David Duffield. Carr most recently was vice president and general manager of PeopleSoft's division aimed at serving federal government agencies.
