What kind of performance metrics help a firm garner "Carrier of the Year" honors? Well, for Mike Williams Trucking, its 97.53% on-time delivery record helped the Medford, Wisc., firm win 2004 Dairy Foods Carrier of the Year. The award was recently presented by Land O'Lakes Dairy Foods Logistics at its second annual carrier partner meeting in Arden Hills, Minn. Land O'Lakes selects its Carrier of the Year recipients based on criteria of service, quality and cost, says Land O'Lakes Dairy Foods transportation manager Paul Klosterman. Mike Williams Trucking, comprised of six trucks and six drivers, excelled in all three categories. "They logged a lot of miles for us this year," Klosterman says. "Through it all, they consistently delivered exceptional service. Their commitment was truly impressive." Mike Williams Trucking is the first firm to receive the award, which was created at Land O'Lakes' 2003 carrier partner meeting.
