Tradec Inc. introduces a marketplace of third-party content providers that integrates with the company's Tradec Cost Management System (TCMS) to deliver strategic sourcing-related information. The marketplace, called Tradec Network Services (TNS), relies on content providers in three areas: supply risk intelligence, market price intelligence and supplier discovery. The San Jose-based software solutions provider says a new technology allows real-time integration between the content providers and the TCMS. Inaugural content providers include:

  • S&P Comstock, delivering real-time market data and financial information;
  • PCNalert, providing real-time component information for the electronic supply chain, including end-of-life notices, product change notices and other component information;
  • SiliconExpert, offering electronic component information such as cross-referencing, life-cycle status and parametric data; and
  • iSuppli, supplying applied electronics industry intelligence.
"Tradec Network Services augments Tradec's core sourcing and cost management solutions with current and in-context market and costing intelligence," says Tim Minahan, vice president of supply-chain research at Aberdeen Group. "Such intelligence can fill a key gap in manufacturers' supply strategies and position users to make more accurate costing estimates."
