Orlando is the location for the Uniform Code Council Inc.'s (UCC) U Connect Conference, which will be held May 21-23. Standards implementation is the theme. The education and networking event will focus on how users can implement the standards of the EAN.UCC System -- which standardizes bar codes, electronic data interchange (EDI) transaction sets and other supply-chain solutions -- to help reduce costs and improve business processes. More than 125 speakers will provide information about how to use the EAN.UCC system. The 2003 conference offers eight tracks and more than 70 sessions covering a multitude of supply-chain topics, including bar coding, logistics, collaborative commerce and emerging technologies. Conference sessions will address EDI, the standards development process, collaborative planning, forecasting and replenishment, eXtensible Markup Language standards, and more. Humorist Dave Barry is the keynote speaker for the conference's general session. For additional information or to register, visit www.uc-council.org/uconnect/index.htm. EAN.UCC is jointly managed by UCC, Lawrenceville, N.J., and EAN International, Brussels, both of which are voluntary standards organizations.
