USinternetworking To Deliver PeopleSoft Via Internet

What's this? Internet-based software delivery? USinternetworking Inc. (USi) last month signed a five-year deal with Sunburst Hospitality Corp. to deliver PeopleSoft Inc. accounting software over the Internet to the hotel operator/developer. According to USi, a certified PeopleSoft outsourcer, Sunburst will gain rapid implementation, round the clock software management and customer support, greater security, real-time data replication, and disaster recovery. "The USi model also provides the consulting we need for a successful upgrade to PeopleSoft Financials 7.5, with the 24/7 (24 hours a day, seven days a week) support we want for ongoing peak performance," says Charles Warczak, vice president of finance at Sunburst, which from its base in Silver Spring, Md., manages franchised hotels including MainStay Suites, Comfort Inn, Quality, Clarion, Sleep Inn, Roadway, and EconoLodge. "USinternetworking and PeopleSoft are providing companies with an entirely new way to take advantage of enterprise application software," says John Haworth, director of outsourcing strategy at PeopleSoft in Pleasanton, Calif. USinternetworking is headquartered in Annapolis, Md.
