Some 75% of senior U.S. financial executives surveyed by the Arlington, Va.-based Manufacturers Alliance/MAPI are confident with Canada's computer preparedness for the new millennium. In contrast, 83% of the executives are not confident or only somewhat confident about China's Y2K compliance. Looking across the Atlantic Ocean, half the executives are very confident or completely confident that the 15-nation European Union (EU) is ready for business after Jan. 1, 2000; only 8% are not confident, or only somewhat confident, that the EU is prepared.
