Compiled ByDeborah Austin Zeneca Agrochemicals has chosen Atlas Commerce's Internet business application, Atlas Metaprise Software, to pilot its private supplier network or "eHub". With the eHub, Zeneca anticipates that its procurement organization interact and collaborate with strategic suppliers/sub-suppliers online, for more efficient sourcing and supply management. The Atlas software helps global firms and their suppliers/distributors by implementing shared, externalized business processes. With it, Zeneca was able to initiate the pilot project in three weeks, says Dave Allen, supply-chain director. Atlas Commerce, headquartered in Malvern, Pa., provides Internet business applications. Zeneca Agrochemicals, formerly part of London-based $18.4 billion AstraZeneca, merged this November with the agrochemicals/seeds business of $21.6 billion Novartis to form a new company, Syngenta. This Basel, Switzerland-based firm operates across areas of crop protection and seeds.
