Auto Parts Supplier to Relocate to Indiana

General Products Corp. moves Ohio headquarters to Angola, Ind.

General Products Corp., a manufacturer of precision machined and assembled engine and chassis components, said on July 8 that it will relocate is Ohio headquarters and manufacturing operations to Angola, Ind. The move will create 61 new jobs by 2011.

The company, which manufactures intake manifolds, pistons, gear covers and brackets among other chassis, transmission and engine components, will invest more than $7.8 million to relocate its Columbus, Ohio headquarters and manufacturing center to its existing 125,000 square-foot manufacturing center in Angola.

General Products, which currently employs more than 60 in Angola, will begin hiring machine operators, maintenance personnel and professional staff later this summer to accommodate the facility's increased production demands.

"The introduction of this new business supports our strategy to diversify and grow through introducing new products and new customers in existing and growth markets" said Tim Bennett, general manager at General Products.
