The German national railway Deutsche Bahn has ordered 15 high-speed ICE trains worth 500 million euros (US$630 million) from Siemens, a spokesman said on Nov. 24.
Initial deliveries are expected in December 2011.
The order will "help maintain German jobs in the midst of the financial crisis," Deutsche Bahn boss Hartmut Mehdorn told the mass circulation daily Bild Zeitung in its edition due out on Nov. 25.
