Unilever Sells American Detergents to Vestar

Sale price is $1.45 billion

The Dutch-British food to household products group Unilever said on July 28 it was selling its detergents businesses in the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada to investment fund Vestar for $1.45 billion.

Vestra would add the activities to its existing detergents business Huish Detergents into a new company to be called The Sun Products Corp. (Sun Products).

Last year the Unilever activities concerned had sales of $1 billion.
