Solar build project wins "Stevie" award for U.S. subsidiary of Japanese electronics giant.

Sharp Electronics Corporation, the U.S. subsidiary of Sharp Corporation of Osaka, Japan, recently won a Stevie Award for "Best Corporate Social Responsibility Program" in The 2007 American Business Awards.

Sharp was honored for its SOLA in NOLA event, a solar build project that benefited residents of New Orleans' Lower 9th Ward who were affected by Hurricane Katrina.

Together with its national network of contractors, the city of New Orleans and local community organizations, Sharp donated and installed ten solar electric systems that will supply a lifetime of free, clean energy and provide a "shining" example to other residents of the power of solar electricity.
