TMK IPSCO is building a pipe threading and service facility in Edmonton, Alberta.

TMK IPSCO, a North American producer of welded and seamless pipe, announced on March 19 that it started developing a new 33,000 square-foot pipe threading and service facility in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

The company is a part of OAO TMK which is Russia's largest manufacturer and exporter of steel pipes and ranks among the global top three pipe producers.

The company says its state-of-the-art production equipment, located at the new facility, will thread a full range of ULTRA Premium connections, from 4 1/2 inches to 13 3/8 inches. In addition, the site will offer a full line of accessories, services and repairs.

"This new facility will keep our company at the forefront of technology and expand our local presence," said Piotr Galitzine. The facility is expected to begin operating in late 2012.

TMK IPSCO has been operating in Canada since 2011, selling oil country tubular goods. With the growth of the Canadian market as it continues to shift towards unconventional gas and oil resources, remium connections will be in higher demand says TMK IPSCO. Therefore the location of its new plant in Edmonton will enable the company to meet growing demand.

TMK product offerings include seamless and welded energy tubular products including oil & gas drill pipe, well casing and tubing, line pipe, LD pipe, standard pipe and hollow structural sections. TMK also manufactures premium connections for oil and natural gas drilling and production.

The company has manufacturing plants in Pennsylvania, Texas, Arkansas, Iowa, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Kentucky.
