Chinese Firm Signs $2.2 Billion Deal with Embraer

Embraer is the third biggest commercial plane maker in the world after Airbus and Boeing.

A Chinese firm, CDB Leasing, has signed a three-year deal with Brazil's Embraer to help Chinese and foreign clients finance the purchase of its aircraft for a total of up to $2.2 billion dollars, Embraer said.

"The deal is designed to improve acquisition opportunities for Embraer aircraft in the People's Republic of China and abroad, and is aimed at the development of the Chinese regional aviation market," it said on Dec. 11.

Embraer is the third biggest commercial plane maker in the world after Airbus and Boeing.

CDB Leasing is the main financing firm in China.
