Chrysler Sales Unchanged in February

March 2, 2010
Compared with January, February sales grew more than the industry average.

Chrysler said on March 2 that its U.S. sales remained the same in February, despite the recall woes which helped its Detroit rivals snag customers from Toyota.

Chrysler's U.S. sales rose by one vehicle to 84,449 units from a year earlier but were nonetheless 48% higher than the dismal results posted in January.

"Compared with January, Chrysler Group's February sales grew more than the industry average, reinforcing the company trend of steady, month-over-month growth," said Fred Diaz, Chrysler's top sales executive.

The automaker which emerged from bankruptcy with government support under an alliance with Italy's Fiat has announced plans to offer a series of incentives to lure customers to its showrooms, including zero percent financing and cash back on some vehicles.
