Renault-Nissan Set Sales Record in 2010

World market share grew to 10.3%

Renault-Nissan enjoyed record sales and increased global market share last year with 7.28 million vehicles sold, representing a 19.6% increase on 2009, the alliance announced on Jan. 28.

Nissan accounted for most of the increase selling 4,080,588 units, a 21.5% increase, while partner Renault saw a 14% increase to 2,625,796 vehicles.

Their Russian partner Lada increased its sales by an impressive 37.6%, making a total of 570,000.

The Renault-Nissan alliance, forged in 1999, "saw unprecedented sales and world market share in 2010," executive Carlos Ghosn said.

The alliance's world market share grew to 10.3%.
