Toyota's U.S. Sales Up 24.4%

Despite millions of safety recalls worldwide, Toyota on May 3 reported an increase of 24.4% in U.S. sales in April, compared to last year.

Toyota USA reported April sales of 157,439 vehicles, despite the continuing fallout from a global recall of almost 10 million vehicles over accelerator pedal and brake problems.

The company reported year-on-year sales increased in its Toyota and Lexus divisions.
