Shiloh Industries expects the plant to be operational by April.

Valley City, Ohio-based Shiloh Industries Inc. announced that it has completed the negotiations to acquire land and a building for a new manufacturing facility in Bowling Green, Ky.

The facility, which will supply first-operation precision blanks and other complimentary products, is expected to be operational by April 1, 2011, and will supply 100% of the blanking needs of a major customer in the area, according to the company.

The initial investment includes 15 acres and an 81,000-square-foot building that allows for further expansion as the business grows.

"This investment is the result of a partnership of Shiloh with economic development organizations at the state and local levels and with our customers," said Theodore Zampetis, president and CEO. "The move into this area of the country provides the company with the foundation to optimize our footprint and expand our business development with existing and new customers in the region."

Shiloh Industries manufactures first-operation blanks, engineered welded blanks, complex stampings and modular assemblies for the automotive and heavy-truck industries. The company has 15 wholly owned subsidiaries at locations in Ohio, Georgia, Michigan, Tennessee, Mexico and now Kentucky and employs approximately 1,250 people.
