British Industrial Output Falls 0.2% in July

However manufacturing rose 0.1%.

Manufacturing output, which excludes mining and quarrying, as well as the electricity, gas and water supply sectors, rose by 0.1% in July from June, and by 1.9% on an annual basis.

While overall industrial output fell 0.2% in July from the June level.

Industrial production dropped 0.7% in July on a 12-month comparison, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said.

"July's industrial production data confirm that the sector made a very weak start to the third quarter," said Samuel Tombs, an analyst at Capital Economics research group.
