Former Hoover Facility in Ohio to Churn Out Space Heaters

Suarez Corp. Industries (SCI) is almost ready to begin producing space heaters at a former Hoover vacuum-cleaner plant in North Canton, Ohio.

SCI said the facility will be operational by Sept. 6.

North Canton-based SCI will manufacture its EdenPURE infrared space heaters at the 200,000-square-foot facility, which was occupied by Hoover until late 2007.

SCI said it will consolidate operations from its existing two facilities in the Akron-Canton area, moving 180 employees to the facility.

The company plans to hire an additional 80 employees once the plant is fully operational, and has said it eventually will manufacture vacuum cleaners and other products at the site.

"This facility represents years of working to bring EdenPURE manufacturing home," said Ben Suarez, company founder and CEO, referring to the fact that production recently moved from China back to Northeast Ohio.

"And not only have we been able to bring it home to the USA with a completely American supply chain, but we are proud to manufacture and distribute EdenPURE heaters from North Canton, Ohio."
