The Conference Board's index of leading economic indicators for Germany rose one-tenth of a percent it October, the most recent month for which data are available. It was the seventh consecutive increase in the index and brings it to 104.6 (1990=100).

"The continued improvement in the leading index suggests that the recent pickup in economic activity is likely to persist in the near term," says the Conference Board, a New York-based business research group.
