Maker of PV Mounting Systems to Boost Capacity at Tucson Plant

Schletter Inc. said it is ramping up engineering and production capacity at its 75,000-square-foot Tucson, Ariz., factory, which makes photovoltaic mounting systems.

The company noted that a federal grant program for solar-panel installations is set to expire at the end of the year, prompting many companies to complete large commercial and utility-scale projects before the Dec. 31 deadline.

The company, which is an independent subsidiary of Germany-based Schletter GmbH, said the increased capacity is needed to reduce lead times, material costs and turnaround times.

"With the year-end approaching, expectations to deliver product quickly and accurately become increasingly important for immediate installations," said Martin Hausner, president of Schletter Inc. "Schletter will have no problem meeting such expectations."

Schletter offers solar mounting systems for project developers, module manufacturers and system integrators for commercial and residential solar projects, according to its website.

The company also makes PV carport systems, solar lighting and vehicle-charging stations.
